FAQs

 

What should my video submission include and is there a set format?

There are no limits to your creativity when it comes to presenting yourself. As the community will judge you, the more you stand out the better. However, make sure you include your name, which program you would like to join and why you should be selected. Also, all videos need to be uploaded on YouTube.

 

Who is applicable for the scholarship?

Anyone above 18 can apply and all nationalities are eligible for the Get Involved Scholarship.

 

Do applicants need to have already been accepted to a volunteer program before applying for the scholarship?

No. You can apply regardless, but Volunteer World advices you get in touch with the organization once you submitted your video as they might want to support you.

 

Can I also use the scholarship to join a volunteer program that is not published in Volunteer World?

The scholarship is only applicable for volunteer programs that are published in Volunteer World. If you want to join a program that is not yet on our platform just get in touch with them and let them know. Volunteer World will help them get their program published before the submission deadline.

 

How is the Get Involved Scholar selected?

After the submission deadline, the community will vote on all submitted videos. The top 5 videos will be nominated for the Get Involved Scholarship. The final scholar will be selected by a jury based on motivation and creativity.
